May 2007 - Finalist for Marshalls RHS Chelsea Garden Design Competition

Marshalls RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2007 Garden Design Competition Wednesday 23 May 2007.

Today Marshalls, principal supporter for the RHS Chelsea flower Show, announced the winners of its Chelsea Garden Design Competition.

The competition ran from 1 February 2007 . The closing date for entries was 23 April 2007 . There were two categories, amateur and professional. Five finalists from each section were invited to the Garden Design Forum in the Great Pavilion at the show at 12 noon Wednesday 23 May for an awards ceremony. Judging was conducted by a panel of RHS experts, led by Andrew Wilson, renowned garden designer and RHS Chelsea Flower Show judge, who also judged at this years RHS flower show. Andrew also teaches garden design at colleges across the country. Chris Beardshaw, award winning garden designer and TV presenter, along with Chris Harrop, Marshalls Group Marketing Director, announced the results and presented a trophy to each of the winners.

Commenting on the competition, Chris Harrop, said: " Marshalls is committed to good garden design, and in our first year as principal supporter of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, we wanted to add a different element to the show with this competition and our Garden Design Forum. I would like to personally thank every one who entered. All of the entrants were of an exceptionally high standard in both categories."

The designs from the 10 finalists will be displayed all week at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
